Halloween: Ban ‘Trick or Treat’!

I hate Halloween.

It’s just isn’t ‘British’. It is another imported excuse designed purely for commercial gain. Manufacturers and retailers rubbing their hands as they exploit the heartstrings of parents. Just pop along to your local supermarket and you will see aisles full of tat.

Yes, the same supermarket that has had Christmas puddings and mince pies on display since the end of September.

Yes Britain, we’ve let them do it to us again.

And, what about this trick or treat crap? Who wants their evening ruined by endless groups of children calling. I certainly don’t. A lot or people don’t and many elderly people feel threatened. Of course, in good old British Society fashion you also get the ‘hoodie yobs’ who feel that it is an excuse to terrorise their communities even more than usual.

McNulty: Another disgraceful abuse of expenses

Former Home Office Minister Tony McNulty will have to repay £13,837 of expenses he claimed and apologise to the House of Commons. He claimed £72,500 second home allowance for a property his parents lived in. Although he lives with his wife in Hammersmith, west London, he claimed for the second home in his Harrow constituency, 11 miles from parliament. The report from the Parliamentary standards watchdog states that the property had been “the sole residence of Mr McNulty’s parents” since 1998.

So why repay only £13,837 I ask. Is it acceptable to keep just short of £60,000?

This follows a leak of Sir Christopher Kelly’s proposed reforms which is to be released next week.

Daily Express 29.10.09

Today’s Daily Express lead story shows what delinquent thugs roam our streets. Sub normal louts, deficient of any basic education, respect or decency. The scum that carried out this horrific act will probably be punished with a three month community service order.

What about a punishment that fits the crime?  Find out which leg he usd to stamp on the dog and have it amputated at the knee. Just so he has a reminder.

Sounds barbaric? Yes, killing a dog in such a way is.

Although this Aviva advert has been out a few months now, I still find this very funny. Paul Whitehouse takes off the Plymothian off to a tee!

Chin Up: Ramsey has had a tough year

The recession has had quite an effect on Gordon Ramsey. He, along with his business partner/Father-In Law have injected millions of their own money into the business. Talking of injections, the top British Chef has admitted to having filler injections into his deep fallowed chin. This, apparently on the advice of the one and only Simon Cowell. Maybe he should of had another part of his anatomy corrected so he wasn’t such a big cock. Only joking!

Ramsey is one of the top chefs in Britain. But I think he has got to be careful. Too much exposure on the T.V in ‘entertainment’ programmes based on food rather that food programmes giving entertainment could be his downfall. It dilutes his stature and reputation. Sure, it’s a money spinner but is it also about credibility amongst your peers and the public.
